Five ways to finish a rosary
This rosary comes in five versions, and the cross or medal you pick changes its story. The Pardon Crucifix carries on its back the Sacred Heart and the words "Father, forgive them," the prayer of Jesus on the cross; Pope Pius X attached indulgences to it in 1905. The Saint Benedict medal recalls the founder of Western monasticism, and the Virgin Mary medal turns the rosary toward Mary herself. The standard crucifix keeps the classic form, and the ring pendant offers a simpler finish. Whatever the version, the natural wooden beads are there to count Hail Marys while thinking about the life of Christ.
Giving it as a gift
Let the person choose, or choose for them: the Virgin Mary medal for a goddaughter, the Pardon Crucifix for a grandfather. It suits confirmation, Easter and Christmas alike.
The prayer
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

The meaning
Keltisches Kruzifix
