The American flag on one side, a verse from Scripture on the other. Faith and country in one cross.

The command given to Joshua
Joshua 1:9 is spoken to a man about to lead. Moses has died, and Joshua must take the people of Israel across the Jordan into the land promised to them. God tells him, "Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid," and promises to be with him wherever he goes. Many Americans in uniform, and the families who wait for them, keep this verse close. This cross pairs it with the American flag: the flag on one side, the verse on the other. Polished stainless steel in silver, gold or black, on a pearl chain.
Giving it as a gift
For a son or daughter leaving for basic training, a husband before a deployment, or a father on Father's Day. At Christmas, it is a meaningful gift for a veteran in the family.
The prayer
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
Joshua 1:9, King James Version
