A small guardian angel on a woven cord, in eleven colours. A gentle reminder that someone is watching over you.
The meaning
The symbol · Guardian Angel
The angel each person is given
Catholic tradition holds that God gives each person a guardian angel. Speaking of little children, Jesus says that "their angels do always behold the face of my Father" (Matthew 18:10), and the Church keeps the feast of the guardian angels every year on October 2. Many children learn the Angel of God prayer before almost any other. This bracelet keeps the idea small: a stainless steel angel charm on a woven cord, closed with an adjustable knot. It comes in eleven colors, from black and gray to pink, sky blue and wine red, to suit a child, a teenager or an adult.
Giving it as a gift
On the day of a first communion, a godparent can tie it on the child's wrist. It is also a gentle gesture for a friend who has lost someone, or for a teenager starting at a new school.
The prayer
Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God's love commits me here, ever this day be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen.
