Two Jerusalem crosses on one rosary
For centuries, pilgrims to Jerusalem have come home with a rosary and a cross, and the Jerusalem cross became the sign of that pilgrimage. It is the emblem of the Holy Land: one large cross with four smaller ones between its arms. Its shape is often linked to the five wounds Christ received on Calvary, just outside the walls of that city. This rosary carries two of these crosses, each 3.5 by 4 cm, on a string of natural beads 58 cm around. It is meant for the prayers of the rosary, mostly the Hail Mary, with a cross to hold at the end.
