In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus tells his followers, "Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid" (Matthew 5:14). Christians have long taken that as a call to live the faith openly. A cross lined with clear stones gives the idea a literal form. On this pendant the arms widen slightly at the tips, a shape found on many medieval crosses, and each arm is set with a row of zircon stones.
