Measure at home in 2 minutes
You need a strip of paper (or a string or shoelace), a pen and a ruler.
- Take a string or a shoelace and mark on it the length you are considering, for example 50 cm (20").
- Hold the two marks together at the back of your neck, wearing the kind of top you usually wear.
- Look in a mirror: the lowest point of the string is where the chain will sit.
- Too high or too low? Try 5 cm (2") more or less: that is one size up or down.
Already own a chain you like? Lay it flat, clasp closed, and measure it end to end. A broad neck or chest makes every length sit a little higher.
No ruler? A bank card is 8.6 cm (3.4") long: count how many fit along your strip.
Still unsure? Ask us, a real person replies within 24 hours.

How to wear it
The cross hangs on a pearl chain, a chain of small round beads that moves freely and sits comfortably against the skin. With the flag on one side and the verse on the other, you choose which face to show: the flag over a T-shirt, or the verse turned outward on Sundays. Under a uniform or a work shirt it stays out of sight.
The stainless steel does not rust, so it can stay on in the shower, during training or in the field. Black is the most discreet with a uniform. It suits a deployment, basic training, Father's Day or a veteran at Christmas.
Questions
What do Joshua 1:9 and Philippians 4:13 say?
Joshua 1:9: "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." Philippians 4:13: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
What is the difference between Philippians 4:13 and Philippians 4:13 (Bold Letters)?
Same verse, different lettering: the Bold Letters version uses heavier type that reads from further away. In the same way, Joshua 1:9 (Arrow) is the Joshua verse with an added arrow design.
What does With God All Things refer to?
Matthew 19:26, "With God all things are possible", spoken by Jesus to his disciples.
Can a soldier wear it under his uniform?
Yes. Choose black for the most discreet look; the stainless steel holds up to sweat, showers and long days in the field.
Is it a good gift before a deployment?
Yes. It is often given to a son, daughter or spouse leaving for basic training or deployment, with the verse chosen by the family.
Which engraving should I pick for a veteran?
Land of the Free if the pride of service matters most, Joshua 1:9 for courage, or The Lord's Prayer for someone who prays it every day.
The prayer
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
Joshua 1:9, King James Version

Its meaning
The command given to Joshua
Joshua 1:9 is spoken to a man about to lead. Moses has died, and Joshua must take the people of Israel across the Jordan into the land promised to them. God tells him, "Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid," and promises to be with him wherever he goes. Many Americans in uniform, and the families who wait for them, keep this verse close. This cross pairs it with the American flag: the flag on one side, the verse on the other. Polished stainless steel in silver, gold or black, on a...
