The word faith, drawn into the shape of the cross. A quiet statement, in a single line.
The meaning
The symbol · Cross
One word on the upright beam
Christian writers often read the two beams of the cross as two directions of love. The upright beam joins heaven and earth, God and the person who believes. The crossbeam reaches out to either side, toward other people. On this pendant the word faith runs down the upright, and a short bar crosses it to complete the shape. Saint Paul names faith first among the three that remain, with hope and charity (1 Corinthians 13:13). It is a small, quiet way to wear that word. Polished stainless steel in silver, gold or rose gold.
Giving it as a gift
A simple gift for a confirmand, boy or girl, who would rather wear one word than an ornate cross. At Christmas it suits a friend who is just coming back to church.
