This is a round medal rather than a cut-out cross, so it lies flat on the chest and shows its Latin motto clearly. Worn over a dark T-shirt or a henley it reads as a coin-like pendant; under a shirt it stays out of sight. To layer it, pair it with a plain chain that sits at least 5 cm higher.
The stainless steel does not rust, so it can stay on in the shower, at the gym and outdoors. The crystal border adds sparkle for an evening or a gift; the Greek key border is plainer and more masculine. It suits Father's Day, a confirmation or Christmas.
Questions
What does Non nobis Domine mean?
It is the opening of a Latin verse from Psalm 115 that asks God to take the glory for himself instead of us. The Knights Templar adopted it as their motto.
Is there a gold Templar cross?
Yes. Choose the gold finish: it is gold-tone stainless steel, which does not rust or turn your skin green.
What is the difference between the Crystal Border and the Greek Key Border?
Only the frame. Crystal Border rings the medal with clear stones that catch the light; Greek Key Border uses a geometric meander pattern, a plainer and more classic look.
What is shown on the medal?
A Templar cross in the center, flanked by a sword and a staff, framed by the Latin motto and the border you choose.
Who were the Knights Templar?
A Catholic military order founded in Jerusalem in the 12th century to protect pilgrims to the Holy Land. The pope dissolved the order in 1312.
Is The Templar's Motto a meaningful confirmation gift for a young man?
Yes. Its motto from Psalm 115, Not to us, Lord, but to your name give glory, speaks of courage that seeks no credit for itself, a fitting ideal for a confirmand.
The prayer
Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory.
Psalm 115:1, King James Version, traditionally the motto of the Knights Templar

Sa signification
Non nobis, the Templars' motto
The Knights Templar were founded in Jerusalem around 1119 to guard pilgrims on the roads of the Holy Land, and the Council of Troyes gave them a rule in 1129. Monks and knights at once, they took vows of poverty, chastity and obedience. The order is traditionally linked to the opening words of Psalm 115, "Non nobis, Domine": not to us, Lord, but to your name give glory. It is a line about serving without seeking credit. This round medal carries a central cross flanked by a sword and a staff, with the full Latin...
