Size guide
Find your ring size

The ring face is 20 mm wide, a signet size that reads clearly on the hand. Signet rings are traditionally worn on the little finger, but the ring finger, middle finger or index all work. Order your usual size, or the larger one if you are between two sizes.
The polished stainless steel can stay on all day, in the shower and at the gym. Silver pairs well with a steel watch; the gold tone suits warmer metals. It weighs 14 g, so it feels solid without being bulky, and it makes a fitting confirmation or Father's Day gift.
Questions
What ring sizes does it come in?
US 7 to 12, which is about 54 to 67 mm in finger circumference (EU 54 to 67). Measure with a strip of paper, and if you fall between two sizes, choose the larger one.
Can a non-Catholic wear a Saint Benedict ring?
Yes. The medal comes from the Catholic tradition, but its cross and its prayer against evil speak to any Christian. Wear it with respect for what it means.
What does PAX at the top of the Benedictine Ring mean?
Peace. Pax is the motto of the Benedictines, and on a ring worn every day it is a reminder to carry that peace with you.
Which side of the Saint Benedict medal does the Benedictine Ring show?
The back: the cross with the initials of its Latin prayers around it, cast on a 20 mm signet face. The figure of Saint Benedict, on the front of the medal, is not shown.
Will the gold Benedictine Ring wear on the palm side?
That is where any ring rubs most. Water will not hurt the stainless steel, but gripping weights or tools wears the gold finish faster; the silver version has no finish to wear.
How heavy is it?
It weighs 14 g, with a 20 mm face. It feels substantial on the hand, like a classic signet ring.
The prayer
Crux sacra sit mihi lux. Non draco sit mihi dux. (May the holy cross be my light. Let not the dragon be my guide.)
Latin verses on the Saint Benedict medal, found in a 1415 manuscript at Metten Abbey, Bavaria

Sa signification
PAX, the word above the cross
The back of the Saint Benedict medal is crowded with letters. On the arms of the cross, CSSML and NDSMD stand for a Latin verse: may the holy cross be my light, let not the dragon be my guide. Around the edge, VRSNSMV and SMQLIVB form a short rejection of temptation. Above it all sits a single word, PAX, peace, long a motto of the Benedictines. Catholics wear the medal to ask for God's help against evil. On this ring the whole design moves from the neck to the hand, in polished silver or gold...
L'offrir en cadeau
Good for a husband on Father's Day, or for a confirmand who has chosen Saint Benedict as patron. Because it stays on the finger, it suits anyone who has to take necklaces off for work.
