A cross with the figure of Christ, raised in relief. A classic devotional pendant.
The meaning
The symbol · Crucifix
A cross that shows the body
A crucifix is a cross that carries the body of Christ, while a plain cross shows the wood alone. Catholics have kept the figure on the cross for centuries, so that the suffering of Good Friday stays in view. Many Catholic homes hang one on the wall, and many believers wear a smaller one on a chain. On this pendant the figure is raised in relief, which catches the light and gives the cross depth. You can choose it in plain polished steel, or with the figure in a gold tone against the silver cross. It is a pendant to wear on the chain of your choice.
Giving it as a gift
For a father at Easter or on Father's Day, a crucifix with a raised figure is a classic choice. It also suits a man who prefers a traditional cross to a modern design, worn on a chain he already owns.
