The medal bearing his name carries the cross and the initials of short Latin prayers, and Catholics wear it to ask God's protection against evil. A single decade of the rosary is prayed as one Our Father, ten Hail Marys and a Glory Be, so it can be taken up anywhere. This piece joins ten pearl-look beads, a Saint Benedict center medal ringed with clear rhinestones and a crucifix bearing his medal, in gold-tone alloy, with beads in white, gold, red, pink, purple, blue or green.

Ten Hail Marys for the days you have no time

After first communion, an older child receives a single decade to keep close: one Our Father, ten Hail Marys and Saint Benedict at their side.

Who it is for

For an older child after a first communion, a confirmand, or anyone who wants a short rosary always at hand.

Giving it as a gift

For an older child after a first communion, or a teenager at confirmation, given by a godparent in the color they love. It sits like a bracelet, so you can pray a decade at your desk, on the bus or before sleep without taking out a full rosary. The gold-tone alloy and pearl-look beads should stay dry: take it off before washing your hands, showering or swimming. Pick the bead color the person loves.
