This cross is drawn as a single looping line tied at the center, in the manner of Celtic knotwork. Interlace with no beginning and no end decorates the early Christian crosses and Gospel books of Ireland and Britain, and Christians have long read it as a sign of eternal life. The shape of the cross keeps Christ's death and resurrection at the heart of the design, and many wear it as a quiet daily reminder of the life he promised.
