The cross is the sign of Christ's death and resurrection, and the heart has long stood for love. Here they are drawn in one looping line, in the manner of Celtic knotwork, so that neither can be separated. Saint Paul writes that faith, hope and love remain, and that the greatest of these is love (1 Corinthians 13:13).
