How to wear it
The round Saint Michael medal hangs on a round snake chain, smooth and supple, which lies flat and does not catch on clothes or chest hair. The medal shows well over a T-shirt or a polo and stays hidden under a dress shirt or a uniform. It is unisex: a man can wear it alone, a woman can layer it with a finer chain.
The stainless steel does not rust, so it can stay on in the shower, at the gym or through a long shift. Silver looks sober, gold-tone more traditional. It suits a confirmation, Father's Day or Christmas.
Questions
What is Saint Michael the patron saint of?
Police officers, soldiers and paratroopers, among others, and he is invoked by anyone facing danger or temptation.
Is it a good confirmation gift for a boy who chose Michael as his name?
Yes. His confirmation saint on a medal he can wear every day is one of the most fitting gifts for that day, from a godparent or a parent.
What is the prayer to Saint Michael?
A short prayer written by Pope Leo XIII in the late 19th century, beginning "Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle". Many Catholics pray it daily or after Mass.
What is a snake chain?
A round chain made of tightly joined plates, so it looks like a smooth, flexible tube. It lies flat and does not tangle easily.
How is it different from the Saint Michael Medal on a wheat chain?
This one is a round medal, in silver or gold-tone, hung on a snake chain. The Saint Michael Medal is oval, on a wheat chain, and also comes in black.
What does the name Michael mean?
Who is like God?, a question that answers pride with humility. On this round medal he is shown with wings spread and sword raised over the defeated dragon.
The prayer
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
Prayer to Saint Michael, composed by Pope Leo XIII in 1886

Dens betydning
Michael, a name that is a question
The name Michael comes from Hebrew and means "Who is like God?" It is read as a question with only one answer, and tradition hears in it the archangel's humility before God. He appears in the Book of Daniel as the great prince who stands for his people, in the Letter of Jude as the archangel, and in Revelation at the head of heaven's army. The Church keeps his feast on September 29. This round medal shows him with wings spread over the defeated dragon, hung on a smooth snake chain in silver or gold...
Som gave
A strong confirmation gift for a boy who chose Michael as his confirmation name. Fathers and grandfathers wear it too, so it works for Father's Day or Christmas, given along with the prayer to Saint Michael.
