How to wear it
Choose the width to suit what you hang on it: 0.9 or 1.2 mm for a small cross or a fine medal, 1.5 or 2 mm for a larger medal or to wear the chain alone. Then choose 45 cm (just below the collarbone), 50 cm (upper chest) or 55 cm (mid-chest).
The gold-tone snake chain lies flat and shines on bare skin, alone or layered with a second chain at least 5 cm longer. The stainless steel can stay on in the shower. Avoid folding it sharply or knotting it: snake chains can kink.
Questions
Which width should I choose for my pendant?
0.9 or 1.2 mm for a small, light cross; 1.5 mm for a medium medal; 2 mm for a larger medal or to wear the chain on its own. Check that the pendant's loop is wider than the chain.
What lengths are available?
45, 50 and 55 cm, in each of the four widths (0.9, 1.2, 1.5 and 2 mm).
Is it gold?
No. It is stainless steel with a gold-tone finish and a lobster clasp.
Can the fine 0.9 mm Gilded Serpent snake chain go in the shower?
Yes. It is stainless steel and does not rust. Afterward, lay it flat to dry rather than bunching it up, which protects even the finest width.
Can a snake chain break or kink?
It can kink if folded sharply, knotted or pulled hard. Store it laid flat or hanging, and it will keep its smooth line.
Does it come with a pendant?
No. It is the chain alone, made to carry a medal or cross you already have, or to be worn by itself.
