The Jerusalem cross is a large cross with a small cross in each of its four corners. Christians often read the five crosses as the five wounds of Christ, or as Christ and the four evangelists who carried his Gospel. The emblem was used by the crusader Kingdom of Jerusalem, and the Franciscans who care for the holy places still use it today. These prayer beads are natural wood woven on rope, with a wooden Jerusalem cross of 3.5 by 4 cm. In the Christian East, believers repeat the Jesus Prayer slowly on knotted ropes and beads like these.
