The shield of faith
Writing from prison, Saint Paul pictured faith as a shield, the piece of armor that takes the blows aimed at the whole body (Ephesians 6:16). Medieval knights carried their colors on their shields, and the military orders took the cross as their sign, the Templars a red cross on a white mantle. This ring brings those two images together. Its shield-shaped face carries a central cross framed with fine detail, in a black and silver finish that looks worn from the first day. It is a substantial ring for a man, in sizes US 8 to 15.
