How Amazing Grace came to America
Amazing Grace was written in England, but it found its lasting tune in America. In 1835, William Walker's Southern Harmony first printed the words with the melody called New Britain, the one most people know today. From there the hymn spread through Southern churches and into hymnals across the country. Its message is simple: the believer was lost and is found, by grace and not by merit. On this pendant the word Amazing runs down the upright and Grace across the arms. It stands 4 cm tall, in a silver or gold finish, on a 60 cm chain.
