Size guide
Find your ring size
Measure at home in 2 minutes
You need a strip of paper (or a string or shoelace), a pen and a ruler.
With a ring that fits (most accurate)
- Lay a ring you wear on that finger on the ruler and measure the inside diameter, edge to edge, in millimetres.
- Find that diameter in the table below.
With a strip of paper
- Wrap the strip around the base of your finger: it must still slide over the knuckle.
- Mark where it overlaps, lay it flat and measure it in millimetres: that is the circumference. Find it in the table below.
Measure at the end of the day, when fingers are slightly larger.
No ruler? A bank card is 8.6 cm long: count how many fit along your strip.

How to wear it
A signet ring is traditionally worn on the little finger, but this one is cut to suit any finger, on a man or a woman. Sizes run from US 7 to US 15: order your usual size, and if you fall between two, take the larger one, since a signet has a broad face.
The stainless steel can stay on in the shower and at the gym. Silver pairs with a steel watch, gold tone with warmer metals, and the black enamel makes the double cross stand out. It suits Father's Day, a confirmation or daily wear.
Questions
What sizes does the cross of Lorraine signet ring come in?
US 7 to US 15. That is from about 54.4 mm of finger circumference (US 7) to 69.7 mm at US 13, and larger again for US 14 and 15. Between two sizes, choose the larger one.
Which finger should I wear a signet ring on?
Traditionally the little finger, but the ring finger, the middle finger or the index all work. If you plan to wear it on the little finger, measure that finger, as it is usually two or three sizes smaller.
Does every version have black enamel?
The black enamel accent sits behind the cross on some versions. Look at the photos of the color you choose to see how the face is finished.
Does The Steadfast Signet come small enough for a woman's finger?
Yes. Sizes start at US 7, a common women's ring size, and go up to US 15. The cross of Lorraine signet is designed as a unisex ring.
Silver or gold: which goes better with the black enamel?
Silver gives the sharpest black-and-white contrast; gold tone looks warmer and more classic. Both are the same polished stainless steel, fine for daily wear.
Is it a good gift for someone with French roots?
Yes. The double cross is closely tied to France and its history, so it speaks to anyone with a French family or a love of that past.

Its meaning
Two bars, from Calvary to Lorraine
The cross of Lorraine has two crossbars, the upper one shorter. Christians traditionally read that upper bar as the sign Pilate had fixed above Jesus: "Jesus of Nazareth the King of the Jews" (John 19:19). The double cross passed to the dukes of Anjou, and René II, Duke of Lorraine, carried it on his banner at the Battle of Nancy in 1477. On July 1, 1940, the Free French chose it as their emblem, and it became a sign of the French Resistance. Here it stands on a classic signet in silver or gold finish,...
Giving it as a gift
A strong choice for confirmation, especially for someone with French roots or a love of history. Give it to a father on Father's Day, or at Christmas to a friend standing firm through a hard year.
