Matthew 17:20

How to wear it

This bracelet measures 17 cm with a 5 cm extender, so it fits wrists from slim to average, with a little room. Six glazed ceramic beads with blue or pink flowers alternate with gold-tone links, and a small Miraculous Medal and a sideways cross hang at each end. It looks fresh with a summer dress, a white shirt or next to a thin watch.

Ceramic and plated links stay prettier when kept dry, so take it off before washing up, a shower or a swim, and avoid knocks that could chip the beads. It suits an older girl's first communion or confirmation, Mother's Day, Easter or Christmas.

Questions

What wrist sizes does The Porcelain Grace adjust to?

From 17 to 22 cm (about 6.7 to 8.7 in): the bracelet is 17 cm long with a 5 cm extender and a lobster clasp.

What is the difference between blue and pink?

Only the color of the painted flowers on the ceramic beads. The medal, cross and gold-tone chain are the same.

What charms are on the bracelet?

A small Miraculous Medal (15 x 8.6 mm) and a sideways cross (19 x 9.5 mm).

Can the painted ceramic beads of The Porcelain Grace get wet?

It is wiser not to. Keep the bracelet dry to protect the ceramic glaze and the gold-plated finish of the links and charms.

Is it a good first communion gift for a girl?

Yes, for an older girl. Its flowers and soft colors appeal to her, and the extender lets it grow with her wrist.

Will the ceramic beads break?

They are glazed ceramic, so a hard knock can chip them. Take it off for sport and store it in its gift box.

The Porcelain Grace

Its meaning

The Miraculous Medal and the cross

In 1830, in the chapel at the Rue du Bac in Paris, Saint Catherine Labouré said the Virgin Mary showed her the image for a medal: Mary with rays of grace falling from her hands. The medal spread quickly, and the many favors people reported after receiving it gave it the name Miraculous Medal. Around her runs a short prayer to Mary, conceived without sin. A sideways cross rests at the other end, keeping Christ beside his Mother. Painted ceramic beads in blue or pink florals link the small medal and the cross on a...
