Color, as in stained glass
In medieval churches, much of the Gospel reached people through color. The stained glass windows of Chartres Cathedral, made mostly in the early thirteenth century, tell the life of Christ and the saints in deep red, blue and gold, and still fill the nave with colored light. For the builders, color was a way to teach and to praise at once.
