This is a plain chain, and its meaning comes from what you hang on it. Snake chain is the jeweler's name for this style: small plates joined so tightly that the chain looks like one smooth, flexible cord. It lies flat against the skin and slides easily through the loop of a medal. Four widths let you match it to the pendant, from 0.9 mm for a small cross to 2 mm for a larger medal. Three lengths, 45, 50 and 55 cm, set where it falls. The finish is gold tone over stainless steel, with a lobster clasp.
