Matteo 17,20

Come indossarlo

This full rosary measures 59 cm around, with a 14.5 cm drop to a 55 x 35 mm wooden crucifix. Worn around the neck it falls low on the chest, over a sweater or a plain shirt, but it is just as much a rosary to keep in a pocket, a bag or by the bed for daily prayer.

Natural wood should stay dry, so take it off before a shower, a swim or the gym, and keep it away from perfume. The 10 mm beads are easy to hold. Choose black, light or natural wood. It suits a godson's confirmation, a young adult leaving home, or Easter.

Domande

Is The Rosary of Faith sturdy enough to carry in a pocket?

Yes. It is made for daily prayer, in a pocket or by the bed: wooden beads on a durable cord, 33 g in all. Just avoid pulling hard on the cord.

How big is it?

59 cm (about 23 in) around, with a 14.5 cm drop and a 55 x 35 mm crucifix. The beads are 10 mm, and it weighs 33 g.

What is the difference between the three colors?

Only the tone of the wood: black beads, light wood or natural wood. The size and the medals are the same.

Do the black beads of The Rosary of Faith need different care from the natural wood?

No. All three tones are wood, so keep them dry, wipe them with the microfiber cloth included and store the rosary flat in its gift box.

Can a man wear a wooden rosary?

Yes. The 10 mm wooden beads and the plain crucifix give it a sober look that suits men well, especially in black.

Why does The Rosary of Faith carry Saint Benedict medals?

They honor Saint Benedict of Nursia, father of Western monastic life, and join his old prayer against evil to the prayer of the rosary. Catholics wear his medal as a sign of faith, not as a charm.

Rosary beads that feel good in the hand

Wood is warm and light, stone is cool and weighty. The Rosary of Faith, 10 mm wood beads in black, light or natural tone. The Hematite Rosary, 6 mm dark grey hematite with Saint Benedict medals. The Prayerful Agate, 15 large 14 mm red agate prayer beads. Keep wood and stone dry.

I want to give a rosary but I don't know which kind

For someone who will pray with it: a full five-decade rosary in wood or stone, like the Rosary of Faith (wood). For someone who wants it close all day: a rosary made to be worn, the Prayerful Journey (stainless steel). For a small token: a single decade, the Fatima Decade.

Wooden rosary or stone rosary, which to choose?

Wood is light and warm in the hand; stone is cooler and heavier. Both should stay dry. Wood: the Rosary of Faith, in black, light or natural wood, 59 cm, with a Saint Benedict medal. Stone: the Meditative Rosary, in tiger eye or agate, 65 to 70 cm. Hematite: the Hematite Rosary. See Rosary Jewelry.

The prayer

Crux sacra sit mihi lux. Non draco sit mihi dux. (May the holy cross be my light. Let not the dragon be my guide.)

Latin verses on the Saint Benedict medal, found in a 1415 manuscript at Metten Abbey, Bavaria

The Rosary of Faith

Il suo significato

Saint Benedict on a wooden rosary

Saint Benedict, who died around 547 at Monte Cassino, wrote the Rule still followed by Benedictine monks. The medal named after him traditionally shows a cross bearing the letters CSSML and NDSMD, the initials of a Latin verse that ask the holy cross to shine as a light. The Church approved its use in the eighteenth century, and Catholics have joined it to many rosaries since. Here it sits beside a wooden crucifix of 5.5 by 3.5 cm, on a rosary of natural wood beads 59 cm around. You can choose black, light or natural...

Da regalare

A sturdy choice for a godson's confirmation, or for a young adult moving out on their own. At Easter, the three wood tones let you match it to the person who receives it.
