The silhouette of Christ and his name, cut out of a round medal, 25 x 27.4 mm. Simple and clear.
The meaning
The symbol · Jesus
Christ with open arms
The name Jesus comes from the Hebrew for "the Lord saves," and the Church honors it with its own feast, the Most Holy Name of Jesus. This round medal pairs that name with a cut-out figure of Christ, arms open wide. Open arms are an old way of showing welcome, and the pose recalls the great statue of Christ the Redeemer above Rio de Janeiro. There is no scene to decode, just the outline and the name. The medal measures 25 by 27.4 mm, in a silver or gold tone, on a 45 cm chain with a 5 cm extender and a lobster clasp.
Giving it as a gift
For a teenager at confirmation, or for a friend who has come back to the faith. A light Christmas or Easter gift that anyone can wear.
