The image of two hands joined in prayer owes much to Albrecht Dürer, who drew a pair of praying hands in 1508 as a study for an altarpiece. The drawing became one of the most copied Christian images, printed on cards, carved in wood and cast in metal. Joined hands are also the posture many children learn first when they are taught to pray. On this ring, the hands hold a rosary that ends in a cross, so one image brings together personal prayer, devotion to Mary and the cross of Christ. It is two-tone stainless steel, silver and gold, in US sizes 7 to 13.
