A round medal engraved with Saint Christopher carrying the Child Jesus through the water, framed by the words Pray For Us. The patron of travelers, worn as a quiet prayer for every road.
The meaning
The symbol · Saint Christopher
Saint Christopher, patron of travelers
According to tradition, Christopher carried a child across a dangerous river and found that he had borne Christ himself, which is why his name means Christ-bearer. He became the patron of travelers, and his medal has long been carried by drivers, pilgrims and those far from home. The words Pray For Us make the medal a short prayer.
Giving it as a gift
Often given to a new driver, to a godson leaving to study, or to a father who is often on the road.
The prayer
Saint Christopher, pray for us.
Traditional invocation to Saint Christopher, engraved on the medal
