The pendant measures 23 x 38 mm and hangs on a pearl chain adjustable from 51 to 60 cm, so it can sit on the upper chest or a little lower over a sweater. The crystal accents catch the light, which makes it a good piece to wear on top of clothing rather than hidden.
The stainless steel handles daily wear, including the shower; put it on after perfume so the crystals stay bright. It is a thoughtful confirmation gift from a godparent, a Christmas present, or a piece to wear every day.
Fragen
What is a Benedict cross necklace?
It is a cross with the medal of Saint Benedict set at its center. This one adds small crystal accents and hangs on a pearl chain.
Where does the Benedictine Radiance pendant sit on its 51 to 60 cm pearl chain?
From the upper to the lower chest, depending on how you set it. The chain adjusts from 51 to 60 cm (about 20 to 24 in), and the 23 x 38 mm pendant stays visible at either length.
Is a Saint Benedict medal only for Catholics?
It comes from the Catholic tradition, but any Christian who respects its cross and its prayer can wear it.
Can the Benedictine Radiance cross be blessed with its crystal accents?
Yes. Crystal accents do not prevent a cross from being blessed. It arrives unblessed; ask a priest, usually after Mass.
What does setting the Saint Benedict medal inside a cross mean?
The Saint Benedict cross places the saint's medal at the center of the cross, joining his prayer against evil to the sign of Christ. Catholics wear it to entrust their home, work and travels to God, as a sign of faith and not a charm.
Do the crystals on the Benedictine Radiance need special care?
A little. Wipe the cross with the microfiber cloth included rather than scrubbing it, and put the necklace on after lotion, perfume and hairspray so the crystals keep their sparkle. The stainless steel itself does not rust.
The prayer
Crux sacra sit mihi lux. Non draco sit mihi dux. (May the holy cross be my light. Let not the dragon be my guide.)

Seine Bedeutung
The Benedict medal at the crossing
Saint Benedict of Nursia lived in Italy around the year 500 and wrote the Rule that still guides Benedictine monks. The medal that bears his name carries Latin initials around a cross, abbreviations of short prayers asking that the cross be a light and that evil keep its distance. Their meaning was explained by a manuscript from 1415 kept at Metten Abbey in Bavaria, and the medal spread widely from there. Catholics wear it to ask for God's protection over home, work and travel. This necklace sets the medal at the crossing of a cross...
Als Geschenk
A godparent might choose it for a goddaughter's confirmation, or for someone moving into a first home. It is also a warm Christmas gift for a believer who already knows the Benedict medal and would like it on a cross.
