The Sacred Heart of Jesus is shown wrapped in thorns and crowned with flames: the love of Christ, given fully for every person. The devotion spread after Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque, a Visitation nun at Paray-le-Monial in France, received visions of Christ in the 1670s. Its feast is kept on a Friday, usually in June, and many Catholic families pray, Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in Thee.
