This one-decade rosary is strung on a stretch cord, so it slips over the hand and stays on the wrist like a bracelet. Ten dark oval beads (about 6 x 8 mm) alternate with small antique silver medals, and a 22 x 12 mm Saint Benedict crucifix hangs at the wrist. It looks sober next to a watch or on its own with a shirt cuff.

The stone beads and alloy medals should stay dry, so take it off before washing up, showering or swimming. Four medal designs are offered, from the Saint Benedict shield to a Eucharist medal. It suits a confirmation, Father's Day or Easter.

Vragen

How do I pray with a wrist decade?

Hold the crucifix for the opening prayers, then pray one Our Father, ten Hail Marys on the beads and a Glory Be. Going around five times makes a full rosary.

What is the difference between the four designs?

They change the medals between the beads: Saint Benedict in a shield or an oval, the Miraculous Medal of Mary, or a Eucharist medal. The crucifix is the Saint Benedict crucifix in every version.

Does The Wrist Decade need a clasp to go on?

No. It is strung on a stretch cord that slips over the hand and adjusts to most adult wrists.

How do I look after the stretch cord and stone beads of The Wrist Decade?

Keep it dry and roll it on and off rather than pulling it, so the cord keeps its tension. Water can also wear the antique silver tone of the medals.

Does The Wrist Decade look sober enough for a man who wears a watch?

Yes. The dark oval stone beads and antique silver medals are discreet, and the 22 x 12 mm crucifix stays small at the wrist.

Can a one-decade rosary like The Wrist Decade be blessed like a full rosary?

Yes. A decade is a rosary in short form, and a priest or deacon can bless it the same way, often after Mass. It arrives unblessed, and the blessing is a custom, not a requirement.

Men's rosary bracelet

The Benedict Tiger's Eye alternates 8 mm tiger's eye beads and Saint Benedict medals, with a crucifix, stretch, about 16 cm. The Wrist Decade is a one-decade rosary on a stretch cord. Stone and alloy should stay dry. See Cross Bracelets for Men.

The prayer

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

The Glory Be (Gloria Patri), said at the end of each decade of the rosary

The Wrist Decade

De betekenis

One decade of the rosary

Each decade of the rosary is prayed as an Our Father, ten Hail Marys and a Glory Be, while meditating on one mystery from the lives of Christ and Mary. A single decade lets the prayer be taken up anywhere during the day. The crucifix carries the Saint Benedict medal, whose cross and Latin initials ask God's protection against evil, and the small medals between the beads honor Saint Benedict, the Miraculous Medal or the Eucharist, depending on the version. This stretch-cord decade has ten dark polished oval beads, antique silver medals in shield, oval,...
