The meaning
The symbol · Saint Christopher
Saint Christopher, the Christ-bearer
Saint Christopher is honored as a martyr of the early Church, and his name means Christ-bearer. Tradition tells that he carried a child across a river and felt the weight of the whole world on his shoulders, for the child was Christ. He became the patron of travelers, and for centuries drivers, pilgrims and anyone setting out on a journey have worn his medal to ask for his prayers. This round coin medal is engraved with the saint crossing the water, the Christ Child on his shoulder, and the words Saint Christopher Protect Us, in polished stainless steel, silver or gold, on a curb chain with an extender.
Giving it as a gift
For a new driver, a husband who travels for work, or a friend moving far away. A godparent can give it at confirmation, and it also suits Father's Day or Christmas.
The prayer
Saint Christopher, protect us.
